Discern A Local Church

The local church you fellowship at impacts your life, family, finances, and your profession for good or for bad.

The fact that we have different denominations is a sign that not all can be right, yet the Church, or Body of Jesus Christ, is one. Can the One Lord and One Spirit give different instructions to different local churches?

The purpose of a local church is to fulfil the Great Commission and help Christians to obey the first and second greatest commandments.

Sadly, some local churches have failed at their God-given mandate and have become;

• Social clubs for connecting and networking.
• Entertainment centers for relieving stress and having fun.
• Profit-making businesses for ministers and their families.
• Hiding places for the wicked so they’re seen as good people.
• Philanthropic institutions that meet the needs of the needy in society.

Every Christian should understand what a true church should be, so they can discern a false church and find ways to help their local church become what Christ wants it to be.

While some Christians expect a major global revival in the coming years, the Bible says there will be a great apostasy and falling away of many so-called Christians and a great delusion of those who refuse to believe and love the truth. (Matthew 24:10-14 and 2 Thessalonians 2)

What you and I need is a personal revival first and fast. We need to return to the ways and acts of the early church, which separated itself from a dead and powerless religion and received the life of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit to spread and suffer for the Good News.
