Life is not about fulfilling your dreams. If it were, many would die disappointed because not all our dreams may come true.

Instead, life is about completing God’s specific assignments with excellence and faithfulness. We don’t live for ourselves because we won’t know which path to take if He left us on our own.

Jesus said we can do nothing of Kingdom and eternal significance in our own strength and wisdom. If we believed that, we’d depend on Him more and focus on doing what He shows and tells us, rather than be distracted by many other good things, as Martha was. (Luke 10:41)

God will reward us for completing His assignments and not making our dreams come true. Anyone can do anything they want, but if we’re His ambassadors on earth, then we should do His business, not ours.

Jesus Christ at 12 had that awareness when He said;

“Why were you looking for Me?” He asked.

 “Did you not know that I had to be in My Father’s house?”

(Luke 2:49)

His Father’s business was so much His first priority that when the disciples urged Him to eat food, He told them;

“…My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.”

(John 4:34)
